is the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, a professional organization for contractors. Gary A. Porter became a Certified Remodeler in 1985, a designation earned through rigorous testing supervised by NARI.

Gary A. Porter first joined the Cincinnati chapter of NARI, then raised enough interest in the local remodeling community to start a local Dayton chapter. He has been very active in both the local and national levels of the organization, holding the following offices:
   1985 - MV NARI president
   1986,1987 - MV NARI Chairman of the Board
   1985-1990 - National Representative for MV NARI
   1997-1998 - Regional Vice President for Region IV for NARI
   2000-2002 - Government Affairs Committee

Since 1985, Gary has also served as chair and/or member of the Education Committee, the Ethics Committee, the Home Show Committee, and the Legislation Committee.

He was the Industry Representative to the Dayton Home Improvement Registration Board from 1989 to 1998.
